Screwworm Free Future is an innovative initiative seeking to advance widespread control of New World Screwworm in the Americas.
We accelerate science to improve control and eradication techniques and provide policymakers with the evidence they need to take effective action.
We focus on extending screwworm control to South America, while building on the successes and learning of North and Central American science and campaigns.

We believe reducing the population of screwworm is one of the highest-impact and tractable opportunities to improve the health of animals, people, and the economies that depend on them.

Accelerating scientific innovation
Screwworm Free Future collaborates with leading scientists to explore how next-generation technology, including genetic biocontrol, can be responsibly applied to screwworm control. We work with laboratories and researchers across South America and the United States.
Generating the evidence decision-makers need to plan and scale control programs
We forge research partnerships with experts to answer important questions policymakers and communities require to make smart decisions. Our focus areas include: generating economic data on costs to economies from screwworm, understanding and independently assessing new technologies and including regulatory pathways.

Building political will for coordinated hemispheric action
Our vision is to see a world free from the suffering and costs imposed by screwworm - and we work across the political spectrum to coordinate diverse actors to make this vision a reality.
